This webinar will share practical information on how projects can source GHG credits for CEQA compliance including incorporating local GHG credits as part of their offsite mitigation measures. Participants will learn about using ex-ante credits from GHG emissions reduction projects to help finance and secure offsite reductions with multiple co-benefits for local communities. To illustrate this approach, the webinar will discuss several real-world examples, including the Reserve’s Climate Forward program and how the program’s Forecasted Mitigation Units helped finance solar projects in low income communities in LA County. Speakers will share insight to the GHG credit market for CEQA, provide context for the regulatory landscape for local mitigation, and discuss the credit transaction and retirement process. This webinar will also discuss the carbon project design process, including project structure and costs, as well as project benefits and future opportunities for local mitigation.
