The Reserve is hosting a webinar to discuss the draft Reforestation Forecast Methodology v2.0 in detail and to solicit public comment. The methodology provides revised guidance for eligibility, quantification, reporting, and confirmation of reforestation projects, including updated guidance on the selection and use of forest growth projections, revised discounting approaches, new baseline quantification requirements, and the expansion of eligible pools to include soil carbon under limit circumstances, among other revision. Furthermore, guidance has been incorporated to indicate the ability of projects and their associated Forecasted Mitigation Units (FMUs) to be transferred to the Reserve’s traditional offset program under the Forest Project Protocol for issuance of Climate Reserve Tonnes (CRTs).
